Oakwood Resort announces their 4th Annual Derby Day Party at The Pier Restaurant & Bar. Saturday, May 6, 2017. From 11:30am until 6:00pm, enjoy counting down to the greatest 2 minutes in sports! The talented and professional culinary team at The Pier Restaurant & Bar will create a special menu for the event that features Burgoo Stew, Kentucky Hot Browns, Southern Gentleman Sliders with smoked pulled pork and unique drink specials that include such race day favorites as Mint Juleps and Oaks Lily’s. For dessert, individual Derby Pies will be created to add to the festivities.
The Pier staff will also be awarding prizes for the Best Dressed Guest and Best Derby Hat. Guests attending this special event can also participate in a corn hole competition and enjoy the one-of-a-kind Bloody Mary cart where the drinks are created tableside. Chicago-based “Stoned Bluez Band” will provide live entertainment featuring soulful blues and a bit of jazz music from 8:30pm until 11:00pm.
